EU3STAR participates in SPADER kick-off meeting
It happened in Tallin on 3rd and 4th of November, 2025!
SPADER is an EDF 2024 awarded project for the next 3 years.
As members of the consortium, EU3STAR was present in the kick-off meeting.
Hosted by the project coordinator, VAAL project officer Timmu Tollimägi, this meeting
gave the partners all necessary information to initiate their activities.
At the meeting was present the DG/DEFIS project manager (PO) and itwas broadcasted
in a dedicated teleconference channel, allowing more partners' personnel to participate in it!

The Autonomous Rapid Recognition Operation Warship (ARROW), one ambitious European Defence Fund (EDF) project supporting innovative SMEs, was officially launched under the indirect management of the European Defence Agency (EDA).
ARROW is a forward-thinking initiative that aims to enhance maritime security along Europe’s maritime frontiers. It is coordinated by French SME SEAir Solutions. On July 1st in Brussels, at the premises of Belgian SME C&V Defence, the consortium held its kick-off meeting to officially commence the project. The participating entities presented and discussed the technical roadmap to be followed in the coming months.
SPADER is a selected for funding project through the EDF 2024 yearly call program. It presents a concept idea of using the concentrated solar rays power to hit the assigned target and change dramatically its thermal and kinetic energy status.
The concept apparatus is mainly a dual catoptric system that concentrates solar beam and directs it accurately through a final optic element to the aimed particle.
The concept will guide research and technological advances to finally arrive in a laboratory model to be tested and provide the Proof-of-Concept. This will pave the roadmap for using SPADER in the clean-up mission of the space debris in orbit and in other space applications
EU3STAR participates in consortiums for 9 different proposals under the EDF-2025 annual call program.
These proposals are under evaluation.
2 Development Action proposals (DA) are fully supported by the NL MOD.
